If you are looking for a non-surgical treatment for painful varicose veins, you may be a candidate for the VenaSeal vein closure procedure. At Centers for Pain Control and Vein Care, our vein specialists offer in-office VenaSeal treatments at our locations in Hobart, LaPorte, Merrillville, Munster, and Valparaiso, Indiana.
VenaSeal is designed to treat bulging, twisted varicose veins while allowing you to return to your normal routine quickly. This advanced treatment offers several benefits compared to traditional vein procedures, including minimal discomfort and little downtime.

VenaSeal is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins and venous insufficiency. During the procedure, your provider delivers a specially formulated medical adhesive into the affected vein using a small catheter. The adhesive seals the vein closed, allowing blood to reroute naturally through nearby healthy veins. Over time, the treated vein collapses and is absorbed by the body.
At Centers for Pain Control and Vein Care, we also offer Varithena™ to treat varicose veins and spider veins. Varithena is an injectable foam treatment that irritates the vein lining, causing the vein to collapse and gradually disappear.
You may be a candidate for VenaSeal if you are bothered by the appearance of bulging or twisted veins in your legs. VenaSeal and Varithena can also be considered if you experience symptoms related to varicose veins, including:
Leg pain or aching
Heaviness or fatigue in the legs
Discomfort that worsens with prolonged standing
Varithena may be recommended for treating spider veins or smaller varicose veins closer to the skin’s surface.
Our vein specialists will evaluate your vascular health and symptoms to determine whether VenaSeal or Varithena is the best treatment option for your individual needs.
VenaSeal procedures are performed in a comfortable office setting. During treatment, you will lie on an exam table while your provider inserts a small catheter into the affected vein. The medical adhesive is delivered through the catheter, and gentle pressure is applied to seal the vein before the catheter is removed.
The incision used to place the catheter is very small and typically requires only a bandage. Most patients are able to return to their usual daily activities shortly after the procedure.
VenaSeal is an outpatient procedure that treats the underlying cause of varicose veins by closing the damaged vein. Benefits of the VenaSeal procedure include:
No surgery
Minimal discomfort
Low risk of bruising
Faster recovery compared to traditional vein treatments
If you are experiencing symptoms of varicose veins or are unhappy with the appearance of visible leg veins, VenaSeal may be right for you.
